Most of my paintings start in pain. This one did too.
Dusty rose and deep plum, layered until they stopped fighting each other. A vein of textured gold running through the center, and I didn't plan it. The piece asked for it. And when I stepped back, I knew that was it.
Tender is for the person who's been through something and came out the other side a little softer for it. Not hardened. Not closed off. Tender.
